Baseball to Host Charleston Southern, Presbyterian College in Midweek Games

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate baseball team remains at Harley Park this week as the Spartans host Charleston Southern on Tuesday and Presbyterian College on Wednesday in a pair of 6 p.m. matchups. 

Upstate is 11-11 after claiming a weekend series against Quinnipiac. Charlie Carpenter hit a walk-off two-run home run for a 5-3 win on Friday night. On Sunday, Upstate plated three runs in the seventh inning to claim a 5-3 win. 

Charleston Southern is 11-6 following an 8-7 win over Longwood on Sunday. Upstate leads the all-time series with Charleston Southern 8-5 after the Buccaneers claimed a 4-3 win on March 1 in Charleston. The teams will meet again next Tuesday in Lexington, S.C. 

Presbyterian College is 11-11 after taking two out of three games against Army. The Blue Hose are led by 13th-year head coach Elton Pollock. Presbyterian College swept the season series last year and leads the all-time series 19-18.
