SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After recording his fourth complete game of the season Sunday against Jacksonville, USC Upstate pitcher Brandon Lee (Palatka, Fla.) has been named the Atlantic Sun's Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.
Lee, who improved to 6-3 on the season, tossed 132 pitches during the Spartans come-from-behind win against the Dolphins. The junior allowed three runs (four total) on five hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
After allowing a bases-clearing double in the third, Lee settled in for the duration as just one more run (unearned) came around to score during his outing. The Spartans, trailing 4-1 heading to the bottom of the eighth, responded with 11 runs in home half of the inning as the club stormed back for a 12-4 victory.
On the season, Lee owns a 3.46 ERA in 67.2 innings on the hill (12 appearances, nine starts).
