SPARTANBURG, S.C. – In the opening contest of the three game conference series between USC Upstate and Jacksonville Friday night, the Spartans will team up with the Gibbs Cancer Center for its Cancer Initiative game.
The evening will begin with a ceremonial first pitch by a cancer survivor prior to the start of the contest. There will also be special pink logo baseball t-shirts for sale at the event ($10 per shirt) as well as a bake sale.
Spartan fans can also participate in a cornhole tournament with the champion winning a t-shirt and a gift card.
All donations collected Friday night from the aforementioned activities will go directly to help support the Gibbs Cancer Center in its efforts to battle cancer, keeping important funds right here in the Spartanburg community.
