SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Riding a Division-I era 10 game win streak, the USC Upstate baseball team finds itself ranked 25th in the College Baseball Daily Top-25 Poll released today, while picking up votes in the NCBWA Top-25.
The Spartans (12-1) are off to their best start of the D-I era and their 10 game win streak is tied for sixth-longest in the nation. Joining Upstate with a 10-game win streak is Florida State, Illinois State and UCLA. Kentucky leads the way at 16 games, followed by Florida (13), Wake Forest (13), Appalachian State (11) and Richmond (11).
Upstate will hit the road for a pair of mid-week contests (at Charlotte, at Furman) before returning to Harley Park for its conference opener (Lipscomb).
Charlotte is also ranked in this week's version of the poll (22nd), while fellow Atlantic Sun Conference schools Stetson (2nd) and North Florida (23rd) are also ranked in the mid-major poll.
For the first time in the Division I era, the Spartans picked up votes in a national top-25 poll as the Spartans garnered votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top-25.
