Spartanburg, S.C. – The 2013-14 USC Upstate basketball season ticket video produced by Trey Morrow and Chad Pothoff won third place for Online Animated or Video Ad at the 32nd Annual Palmy Awards presented by the South Carolina Press Association.
The award was presented to the Herald-Journal at the awards luncheon Wednesday. The ad was part of a year-long advertising campaign by Upstate Athletics on goupstate.com, the online presence for the Herald-Journal. Former Spartan men’s golfer Brian Horton and others in the advertising department at the publication were also honored for their work on the campaign.
Morrow, who was a student last year and is the current Director of Video Services for Upstate Athletics, and Pothoff, who served as the Director of Video Services for the last two years prior to leaving to take a position in the Video Operations department at the University of Missouri, worked together to produce the ad to complement the season ticket campaign for Spartan basketball.
The award for the season ticket video is the second award earned by the Video Services office in the athletic department at Upstate. The 2011 volleyball intro video produced by Wade Johnson earned an award by the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA).
