Spartanburg, S.C. – The Atlantic Sun Conference is tipping off the 2013-14 basketball season with its A-Sun Basketball Social Media Days this week and the USC Upstate men’s basketball team will start the week’s festivities with the first session Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the Hodge Center.
Each of the 10 member institutions in the A-Sun will stream its sessions for the A-Sun Basketball Social Media Days live on ASun.TV for free. Upstate will have a traditional press conference setting for its men’s and women’s sessions. The men’s session will feature head coach Eddie Payne and seniors Torrey Craig and Ricardo Glenn. The women’s session, which will be broadcast Thursday at 11:30 a.m., will feature head coach Tammy George and sophomore Brittany Starling.
In an effort to attract attention from both media and fans, the A-Sun has transitioned its preseason media focus to its Basketball Social Media Days format. In addition to having traditional media members question the players, moderator Jason Patterson will also present questions obtained from social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook. Fans can send questions in forms of replies to posts on Upstate’s Twitter (@UpstateSpartans, @UPSTMBB) and Facebook (/UpstateAthletics) accounts, as well as to the A-Sun on its Twitter account, @AtlanticSun.
