Gethin Earns Top-Five Finish at Terrier Relays

Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate junior Erin Gethin picked up her first top-five performance of the season on Saturday to lead the Spartans track and field team during the Terrier Relays held at Spartanburg High School.

Gethin, who already had a top-10 finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase, turned in her best time in the event this season running a 12:27.57.

Kierstin Williams also recorded her best finish of the season in the hammer throw event. She posted a mark of 38.90-meters to finish in 7th place.

Matt Johnson led the Upstate men as he compiled his best finish of the year with a 7th place showing in the 400-meter dash following a time of 49.79.

The Spartans return to the track on Thursday, Apr. 10 for the Carolina Cup hosted by Winthrop University.
