Despite getting career-highs in scoring out of Nick Schneiders and Pat Posey, USC Upstate could not come all the back from a 17-point second half deficit as Jacksonville held off the Spartans for a 79-69 victory in A-Sun men's basketball action in the Hodge Center Monday night.

Playing against one of the stingiest backcourts in the Atlantic Sun Conference, the USC Upstate women's basketball team forced 26 turnovers. However, 25 of their own turnovers helped Jacksonville score 34 points off turnover and shot 42 percent (8-for-19) from the 3-point line to lead the Dolphins to a 78-58 win in the Hodge Center on Monday night.

In one fell swoop, the USC Upstate women's basketball team matched both its win and conference win total from their first year of Division I play on Saturday afternoon with its 69-50 win over North Florida. Now, the team will get a chance to set new Division I-era high-water marks and move above .500 when it takes the floor against Jacksonville in Atlantic Sun Conference action on Monday at 5 p.m. at the Hodge Center.

The game marks the Spartans' second-straight home game after playing 10 of its first 11 games on the road. Upstate enters the game with a 2-10 overall record and a 1-2 mark in the A-Sun. Jacksonville, following its thrilling 84-82 loss at ETSU Saturday, comes into the game with a 3-8 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the conference.
