Scott Senger is in his fourth season with USC Upstate Athletics as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Spartans.

Senger is responsible for designing and implementing Spartan strength and conditioning programs for 13 of the 15 sports at USC Upstate with his primary focus on men’s basketball and volleyball.

Senger is actively involved with the National Strength and Conditioning Associations Education Committee and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach with the NSCA. He holds additional certifications as a Certified Specialist in Speed and Explosion through the National Association for Speed and Explosion and is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification.

Senger serves additional duties at USC Upstate for the School of Education’s Physical Education program, assisting with the instruction of the strength and conditioning education for the undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science. He also serves as a sponsor for the Education Recognition Program which was granted to the Physical Education department by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. The NSCA recognizes Upstate's curriculum as being ideal in preparing strength and conditioning professionals.

Prior to coming to Upstate, Senger served as the Head Athletic Trainer for Chesnee High School in Chesnee, S.C., providing Outreach Athletic Training services, speed and conditioning training, assistance to the head strength coach, and served as the Assistant Track & Field Coach for Chesnee athletics.

In addition to his experiences at Chesnee High School, Senger served as the Assistant Outreach Sports Medicine Coordinator for HEALTHSOUTH of Las Vegas, Nev., the Assistant Chief Medical Officer for USA Wrestling Regional and National Events, and directed Sports Reconditioning Programs for the Las Vegas Wranglers ECHL Minor AA Professional Hockey Program.

Senger earned his Master of Science degree in Health, Nutrition and Exercise Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Education from North Dakota State University.

Senger and his wife, Stephanie, make their home in Greer. Away from his work responsibilities, he spends his weekends as an on-ice official for USA Hockey, the Southern Professional Hockey League and the East Coast Hockey League.
