Josh Beard is in his first year as the Director of Athletic Facilities and Game Operations at USC Upstate and is in his second year overall in the department. Previously, he served as an intern at Upstate in 2011-12.

Beard graduated from North Greenville University last May with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management. He served as an intern with Upstate Athletics as a requirement for his degree. Beard assisted in all phases of the facilities and game management operation last year at Upstate.

Beard served a summer internship with Zaxby’s working as a sales and marketing associate in Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties. As a student at North Greenville, he got his start in athletics administration while serving as a game day operations assistant from 2009-11. He also was an intramural resident assistant from 2010-11 and a resident hall assistant from 2008-10.

A native of Woodruff, S.C., Beard is a graduate of Woodruff High School.
