Katelyn Ledbetter is in her first year as an athletic trainer at USC Upstate. Her primary sport responsibilities are with volleyball, cross country and track & field.
Ledbetter is a 2015 graduate of Western Carolina University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training. Prior to joining Upstate, she worked in the athletic training department at nearby Newberry College for two years with the softball and volleyball programs.
During her time at Western Carolina, Ledbetter worked in a variety of positions at the middle school, high school and collegiate levels. Beginning in 2011, she assisted with the football and men’s basketball programs at Western Carolina, and then went on to help cover football for Enka High School in Candler, North Carolina. Ledbetter served in three positions during 2013 at Haywood Middle Schools, The Asheville School and again at Enka High School.
For two years from 2013-14, she was the athletic trainer for women’s basketball at Spartanburg Methodist College, and also assisted in wrestling, baseball, tennis and cross country. Prior to graduation, Ledbetter worked with the football program at Newberry.
She is currently a member of the South Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association, National Athletic Trainer’s Association, Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association, North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association and NAASP National Honors Society. For four years she was part of the Western Carolina Athletic Training Association.
Ledbetter is also certified in the South Carolina Athletic Trainer’s Certification and American Heart Association Basic Life Support of Health Care Providers.
She earned her master’s degree in exercise science and health promotion with a concentration in sport psychology in 2016 from California of Pennsylvania.
